How Will We Go to India?

Many ask how we will go to India since you can no longer get a "missionary" visa. As we commit our hearts and plans to the Lord, we're trusting Him to direct our steps and establish our plans.

"The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps
(Prov. 16:9)."

"Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16:3)."

Our plan is to explore "tent-making" opportunities to capitalize on our skills and experiences for business, professional, and educational avenues of long term entrance, service, and financial support.

India just passed a law that took effect this year, the Limited Liability Partnership Act, that allows foreign law firms to partner with Indian residents to start local offices in India. We are exploring the possibility of opening a law office in India in partnership with one or more Christian Indian lawyers. Our vision is to see many Christian law firms open in key cities throughout India and beyond to other strategic locations in the 10/40 window.

Chris's area of expertise is representing employers of all types -- businesses (local, regional, national, and international), churches, cities, counties, non-profit corporations -- helping them comply with labor and employment laws locally and nationally. Chris also defends employers in all types of legal proceedings involving labor and employment related matters. Chris works primarily with his clients' human resources leaders, as they are generally charged with managing employment-related issues. As a result, we are exploring ways in which Chris can help US and other employers navigate and comply with Indian labor and employment laws in partnership with Christian Indian lawyers with similar expertise.

Shannon has educational training and experience. She is considering possible service with a Christian school or international school, though our preference is that she continue to home educate our children.
