Day 45 - Christi's Coins

Took my 8 year old daughter, Christi, to play tennis tonight. Afterward we went to Wal-Mart to pick up some ice cream for Shannon's famous blackberry cobbler. Before going in, I grabbed some tracts. Christi wanted to take some and pass them out, too. She took a couple of the silver coin tracts that have the 10 commandments on one side with the consequences of breaking God's law and a gospel message on the other side. As we were leaving, Christi pointed to the cashier whose line she wanted to go through in order to give coin. After the cashier finished, Christi handed her a coin and said this is for you, it's a gospel tract. Christi explained that it had the 10 commandments on one side, showing that we've broken God's law. She also explained that the good news of the gospel was on the other side. The cashier thanked Christi for the gift. The man in line behind us smiled. I said hey, Christi, what about the gentleman behind us. Do you have a gift for him, too? She handed one to him, too, and explained the same thing to him. He thanked her for it and said he was going to be sure and read it. I was proud of Christi for having the boldness and the thoughtfulness to share tracts in a friendly way with people she didn't even know. Atta girl, Christi!
