Day 47 - Carrabba's Crew

Friday night is date night! It's a been a tradition for Shannon and I for about seven years or so now. Shannon chose Carrabba's, one of our favorites. Randy, our waiter, was awesome. Enthusiastic. Personable. Attention to service. Randy was one of the older gentlemen on the wait staff. Probably 40's or so. Long blond hair pulled back into a pony tail. We had a great time relating with Randy. We've seen him there before but never had him as a waiter. If you're ever at the one on 71st street, ask for Randy! Tell him Chris and Shannon said hello!

I wanted to have a chance before we left to ask Randy about the source of his enthusiasm, but it didn't really materialize. We left Randy a very generous tip and also left him some gospel tracts. I wrote Randy a personal note on one of them. Told him how much we appreciated his great service and enthusiasm for taking care of us. And we told him how much we hoped he would act upon the gospel if he had never done so before. I pray that tract and message touched his heart and that the Lord will work through the seed of His Word that was sown tonight.

We then stopped and talked a bit with Whitney on the way out. Whitney was new to Carrabba's and was the greeter at the door. Whitney said she knows for sure what her eternal destiny will be, having trusted in Jesus Christ as her savior from an early age. Her parents are Sunday School teachers at her church in Jenks, Oklahoma. We asked her if she knew whether Randy was a believer, but she hadn't really been there long enough to get to know him.

It's really true that people will generally warm up to our warmth if we simply take the time to show them the warmth and care that Jesus has for them.
