This is Peter. Peter is the driver who works for our host here in India, Sara Brigman. Peter is a wonderful brother in the Lord. Humble. Funny. Kind. Gentle spirit. Peter trusted in Jesus Christ as His savior when a relative received a dramatic healing in answer to prayer.
Peter knows the guards who sit outside of Sara's apartment, the guys that I blogged about yesterday. I asked Peter what he knew about the guards in preparation of possibly engaging in a witnessing encounter with them. As we strolled through a nearby park across from Sara's apartment, Peter told me about the guards and about his many efforts to share the gospel with them. One is a Hindu in name only but is really agnostic. The other is a Christian. Peter shared how he and his brother had gone to prayer for the guard's ill relative after she could find no relief from the futile incantations of her Hindu priests and monks. She recovered but the guard still refused to trust in Jesus or follow him.
I shared with Peter some of the lessons I had learned from my experiences in using The Way of the Master approach with guys like the guard who seem unconcerned about their eternal fate. I encouraged him to be serious in warning the guard about the judgment to come and the reality of Hell just as Jesus warned about it, where the fire is never quenced, the flesh never dies, and there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth for eternity. We had a great talk to together. I will be praying for Peter as he engaged the unbelieving guard this week.
