On the way home from work, I stopped at a convenience store to pick up some surprises for Shannon - her favorite drink (Pepsi) and her favorite candy (Hot Tamales). When checking out, I struck up a conversation with the clerk. Her name was Patty. She hopes she will go to heaven some day, but she unsure how to secure her eternal destiny. I told her that the bible explains that the good news is we can know for sure what our destiny will be. She is not sure she can believe there's an afterlife and questions whether she can trust the reliability of the bible.
As with Bobby yesterday, I quickly walked her through the MAPS acronym of evidence supporting the divine origin and absolute reliability of the bible. She still seemed hesitant. I gently urged her to value her eternal destiny enough to take the time to search out and weigh the evidence. I gave her the websites for www.equip.org and www.reasonablefaith.org. I urged her to check it out and take the steps that Jesus instructed us to take before it's too late.
Pray that Patty will not procrastinate in taking care of her eternal destiny, that she will read the gospel tract that I gave her, that she will be convicted of her sin, and that she will repent and trust in Christ for her salvation.
