After BSF each Monday night, I treat the kids to an Arby's drink or shake. It's also a tradition to share the gospel with the person who serves us at the drive thru window. Tonight it was Miguel. I offered Miguel a gospel tract and asked him if he knew where he would go when he dies. He didn't know. I asked him if he would like to know. Yes, he said.
I shared with him that when we die we will face God in Judgment and God will judge us according to his moral law, the 10 commandments (Ec. 12:13-14; 2 Cor. 5:10; Heb. 9:27). I then asked him if he had ever lied in violation of the 9th commandment. Yes, he admitted. I then explained that if we walked through all of the commandments--you shall not steal, use God's name in vain, etc.--that he would have to honestly admit that he's broken them as well, countless times. He nodded in agreement. After explaining that his destiny would be hell as a result of his countless sins against a holy God, I then shared with him what the Lord did to pay the penalty for his sins so that he doesn't have to pay for them himself. Finally, I shared with him the two things Jesus said to do in order to have eternal life, repent and trust in him alone for salvation (Mk. 1:15).
I asked Miguel if he had ever repented and trusted in Christ for salvation. No, he said. I then asked him when he was going to do that. He didn't know when he was going to repent and trust Christ and turn to follow him. I urged him to do it before it's too late, because he doesn't know how much time he has left.
