Day 143 - Flesh Barrier. Language Barrier.

I hadn't had an opportunity to witness until late in the day.  I was at a gas station.  A guy pulled up next to my car.  In my flesh, I didn't really feel like stepping out of my comfort zone and engaging this man in a conversation about his eternal destiny.  I often find my flesh a barrier to doing the thing that mattered most to the Lord -- seeking and saving the lost with the words of life.

But, after weighing the importance of this man's eternal soul and the importance of my obedience to the Lord's command to "go," I went.  I stepped out in faith and walked over to him, pulling out one of my gospel tracts.

I greeted him with a friendly hello and asked him if he had ever received one of the celebrity million dollar bill gospel tracts.  I quickly discovered another barrier--language.  He spoke Spanish and not English.  He tried to ask me if it was a real million dollars.  No, I said, breaking the bad news.  I pointed to the gospel message on the back.  He smiled at me.  I smiled back.  Maybe he will find someone who can read it to him.

Probably the most important thing about this encounter was the battle in my own flesh over obedience to the call versus laziness in my walk.  I thank God he helped me overcome the flesh.
