Day 84 - Running from the Lord

Have you ever had a dream where you were trying to scream at some one but they couldn't hear you. That's how I felt today when sharing with a young man.

He knew the Lord but he admitted that he was simply running from him and his call on his life, like the prodigal son, he said. He felt the Lord was calling him to preach but he didn't want to do it. He said he would definitely be going to hell if he died today, because he was "backsliding." He was part of a denomination that believes you can lose your salvation if you turn from the Lord. I urged him to turn back to the Lord and trust in Him alone for his personal salvation and for perseverance in his walk with the Lord. I tried to assure him that if there was nothing he could do to be good enough to earn his salvation, knowing it's a free gift from the Lord, then he can rest assured there is nothing he can do to lose his salvation. I quoted for him 1 John 5:11-13, which the Apostle John wrote to assure believers that they could "know" for sure that their salvation was secure in the Lord. But, he simply wasn't willing to return to the Lord. He was enjoying his time in the world with the "pigs." I pray he will repent and return to the Lord before it's too late.
