"For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? For you are our glory and our joy (1 Thes. 2:19-20)"
I want to see you there! One thing that excited the Apostle Paul was knowing how many people he would get to see in heaven at the Lord's appearing because of His faithful witness in the power of God's grace. On the way out of the parking garage leaving work today, I saw Nikki again working the ticket booth . As I pulled up to exit, she didn't notice me. "Hey, Nikki," I shouted. She looked over from inside her glass booth. "How's it going," I asked. She opened her window and said, "good." After some small talk, I asked if she had taken those two critical steps we had talked about the evening before, repent and trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior. "Not yet," she said. "Nikki, I hope you'll do that before it's too late. I want to see you there," I emphasized. "Ok," she said. I waived and drove off, and she waived back. I pray the Lord will work on Nikki's heart to cause her to consider her destiny and what He has done for her. I pray God's Spirit will stir her heart and cause her to turn toward Him for salvation and new direction in life.
Later this evening, I took my oldest son, Christopher, to the AT&T store to get his birthday present, an iPhone! Before leaving, I took a bunch of celebrity million dollar bills. When we got there, the store was crowded. The sales rep that helped us was great. After he finished, he asked if there was anything else he could do for us.
Me: No. You've done a great job. But wait, I've got something for you. I pulled out all of the bills and started thumbing through them, showing him and the couple next to me all of the different celebrity caricatures. I asked all of them if they could tell who the celebrities were. It was amazing how interested they were in the bills and figuring out who the celebrities were. Another sales rep got into it, too. I was passing them out to them. As they went through them, talking about them, I let them know that they were gospel tracts and had the million dollar question on the back. "Coincidentally," they had been talking about Michael Jackson's death just before I pulled them out. I encouraged them to make sure they consider their eternal destiny while they still have time to do so and urged them to read the back of the tracts. At that point, the other sales rep recognized me and said that he remembered me from the courthouse. He said he had received a tract from me at the courthouse recently. He went on to say that he was trusting in the Lord and thanked us for "the good work we were doing." As we were leaving, I encouraged him to share the extra bills that I had given him, "because you can't take a million dollars with you. You can only take yourself and your friends!"
