Day 100 - Attracting a Crowd

After work, I went to pick up my eight year old daughter from soccer practice. It was just before dark.

As I got out of the car, I saw a crowd of young men (looked like they were in their 20's) gathering around a truck in the parking lot between me and the soccer field. Perfect.

I grabbed a handful of million dollar bill gospel tracts and headed their way. As I walked up to them, I said: "Hey, guys, have you received your Obama stimulus money yet?" Seeing the handful of bills in my hand attracted their attention. I started passing them out to all of them and more guys gathered around. They began checking them out.

I introduced myself to the first guy, Adrian, and told the crowd that they were actually gospel tracts and had the million dollar question on the back, where will you go when you die. They didn't really answer the question, but were listening. As they looked at their bills, I explained to them how one side had the law, the 10 commandments, and how the purpose of the law is to show us how desperately we need a savior, because we've all broken God's law countless times. They kept listening, so I kept sharing. I shared the gospel with them. I urged them to repent and trust Christ before it's too late and to follow him. Adrian asked where I went to church. I told him and encouraged him and his friends to check it out.

They thanked me for the bills, as I shook their hands, told them it was great to meet them and talk to them, and wished them a great day. That just took a couple of minutes. Seeds sown.

As Jesus said, "we must work the works of him who sent [us] while it is still day; night is coming when no one can work (John 9:4)."
