As I was pulling my car into the gas station, I didn't notice a lady walking by and inched a bit close to her before I noticed and stopped. It startled me, but she just laughed and kept walking as if it was no big deal.
As she came back by the car walking to hers while I was filling up mine, I pulled out a million dollar bill gospel tract and offered her a million dollars to cover the emotional distress of the near-miss. She laughed and took the bill. I told her it was really a gospel tract and struck up a conversation with her. She was walking to her car where he husband was filling it up and watched me give her the bill. I gave him one too and started talking to both of them. Turns out they both have "accepted Jesus Christ" as savior. We talked a bit about what that means, as I explained to them how important it is to have a right understanding of the way to salvation, because so many people think they understand but further inquiry reveals they don't.
The conversation went well. They weren't offended that someone cared enough to make sure they understood their eternal destiny and how to secure it in the Lord. They weren't currently attending a church, but had been bouncing around a bit. I encouraged them to get plugged into a solid bible-teaching fellowship where they could be encouraged to grow in a genuine walk with the Lord. I urged them to pass out their million dollar bill tracts to someone who may not know their eternal destiny.
